Raise your hand if…you have de-Christmased your house.  Sadly, I have, but in my defense, my husband has today off from work and I can’t get the tree outside without his help, so, out it went.  I’ll miss that heavenly scent, for sure. I still have the Nativity set up, though; can’t quite put that away yet.

I am guilty of not quieting myself down and focusing on what this season is all about, so maybe seeing the manger will help me do so.

I am truly envious of those of you who are able to center yourselves, remove yourselves from the everyday noise and chatter, and go inward to connect with God.  It is something that I have begun craving more and more lately.  Perhaps it’s my age, perhaps it’s the times we’re in…whatever it is, I intend to work at it until it’s my reality.

I love reading Mountain Woman’s blog entitled Red Pine Mountain. She is so inspiring and one of her latest posts started me thinking about actually taking action towards a deeper connection to God.  Do I ever have work to do, though.

I hope that everyone is staying warm and safe.  Onward….

  1. Hi!
Haven't gotten to the dedecorating yet. But it's coming. Looking forward to getting out my winter snowmen and all my snowflakes for
    January.
Also looking forward to the new year. Hopefully it will be better than this one was!

    Happy New Year to you.

  2. I know what you mean, Carol, about rushing thru Christmas and forgetting (or not focusing) on the true meaning of the season. Since Ephiphany traditionally marks the end of the 12 days of Christmas, you're doing fine by leaving up the nativity. Wishes for the best of the new year esp. in your job. Nerm
