Bob and I sat out by the fire with the dog for three hours earlier tonight talkingandtalkingandtalking. It was quiet, peaceful, cool, smelling of the earlier rainfall...the perfect way to end the week. Add to that the five dozen chocolate chip cookies that I baked and you've got a just-right day.
I hope you all had a peaceful, family-filled day, too; here's to a great week. :)

Hi there. Vacation week is almost over, so no "TGIF" today. Only eight more weeks of school though, so the end is definitely in sight.
Well, here's my new craft accomplishment...what do you think? I learned this from Monica over at The Craft Junkie and I love it! I've always wanted to learn how to make these cutesy little necklaces. If you're interested in a variety of very cool, creative crafts, check out her blog which is listed in my sidebar entitled "Blogs I Enjoy". (I say that because I have not yet learned how to insert links to other sites. Apparently I'm challenged that way.) Monica’s a wonderful teacher, and very talented I must say.
Hope you all have a wonderful weekend…rain and cool weather due here on Sunday, so I’m thinking an oven meal would be nice. Hmmmm, maybe even some homemade chocolate chip cookies to end the week.

Pez, Again
Raise your hand if…you just spent $10.00 on five more Pez!! Shhhh…don’t tell my husband; we’re being smarter with our money these days.
But hey, I needed to complete the Toy Story characters, did I not? I thought so. :) By the way, Woody’s here, he’s just hanging out with the 140 other Pez (Pezes? Pezi?); wait til he sees who I brought home!
Vermont Getaway
Good Monday morning to you…and I only say that because we’re on Spring vacation this week, so I don’t have to work!
Well, my husband and I were able to get away for a few days to our favorite place, northern Vermont. It was wonderful…the house we were in was amazing and the view? Well, the view was breathtaking; it allowed us to just gaze and ponder. Talk about mellow.
This first photo is what we saw when we arrived…
…and this is what we saw when we awoke the next morning!
Talk about a change, but it didn’t diminish our enjoyment one bit. In fact, it sort of “allowed” us to relax even more, being so snug in our cocoon. The quiet up there is so profound, it’s almost noisy…weird, I know.
Besides reading like crazy (my new favorite author is Claire Cook, check her out!), I spent time doing my little needlework lavender or balsam “pillows”. I haven’t done them since last year, so it was good to sit and be a bit creative. Not too tough to do with a view like this one.
Here we are on our last day, happy to have been able to reconnect, yet happy to be heading home to our family. It was a much needed breath of fresh air, both emotionally and physically.
Here’s to a peaceful, relaxing, somewhat productive week to everyone. :)

Our weather here is absolutely beautiful...high 60s, sunny, everything in bloom; where we're headed might get up to the high 30s during the day, with snow on the way. It's okay though; we'll be at the lake and that's what fills our souls with peace.
Tally ho....

She did give us lollipops and a dog biscuit for Lucy, though; such a good kid!

Pez Galore!
First of all, hi there, happy weekend, and I’ve missed you. :)
Second of all~
Raise your hand if…you collect Pez. Hey, me too!
A couple of weeks ago, just for the fun of it, I answered a “Wanted” ad on Craig's List for Pez collectors. Turns out this very nice kid from Hampshire College is doing a documentary on people and their collections, including Pez. So….last Monday, he came here laden with a boatload of camera equipment and a very inquisitive mind. He stayed for almost two hours, asking questions, filming, chatting, taking still photos and being quite enjoyable.
I wore a teeny little microphone and got to talk about my collection… …about 120 of them here, although I can’t remember where I put the rest of them, about 50 or 60 more! I think it’s the darn “old-age” forgetfulness. When he asked why I collect Pez, I told him because they’re cute, colorful, cheap and fun to look at; nothing deeper than that. (I don’t even eat the candy!)
If you bend Chewbacca's head back, he’ll play the Star Wars theme song! Daughter #2 used to wake Daughter #3 up in the middle of the night by doing just that…Daughter #3 did not find it amusing!
How cute and colorful are these Flintstones Pez?
The only Pez that I spent any real money on is a Yankees Charlie Brown, in honor of my dad who was an avid Yankees fan. That one cost $20…the others were all either gifts or impromptu purchases.
So….what do you collect?

Raise your hand if…you have today off from work and are still in your jammies at 2:25 p.m. (like me!)
Well, I have done two loads of laundry and hung sheets outside, cooked the hard-boiled eggs and kielbasa (I’m half Polish), typed four files for my transcription business, sat and chatted with Mom, and washed the glass shades over the bathroom lights, but still…2:25 p.m. and in my jammies?? Decadence!
The weather here is magnificent…cloudless, brilliant blue sky, 72 degrees, barely the whisper of a breeze, and the sound of birds everywhere; it’s a made-to-order day.
May you all have a peaceful, loving weekend filled with Spring blooms, birdsong, and family.
Happy Easter to you all.
